Rebecca F
Job title
Communications and Events Manager
Time at the charity
I joined the Pets Foundation in 2019.
Quick summary of your role
I oversee our charity communications, externally and internally. This means I get to do stacks of interesting and creative stuff, like proofing social copy, editing the charity section of the Pet Club magazine, chatting to incredible charity partners, filming and working with videographers, and loads more. My hidden talent is that I’m known as the team’s spreadsheet guru!
What do you love most about working at Pets Foundation?
Helping pets in need every day – and being able to impact pet welfare on a nationwide scale. It’s so humbling to see how the funds raised really do make such a difference to pets and people in need. Also, being part of a a wonderful team who are as passionate as I am about what we do.
What pet do you have at home?
A Chihuahua-Yorkie cross called Ruby and a Siberian Husky called Keisha.
What’s your favourite type of pet?
It’s hard to choose just one! My first pet was a Syrian hamster so they hold a special place in my heart. I also love guinea pigs and think they make great pets.
What is your most memorable rescue experience?
A bird rescue I talked to recently told me about how one of their resident parrots constantly swears at the visitors coming into the centre, which made me laugh! We hear so many funny, inspiring and heart-warming stores from the rescues we work with. Keep an eye on our socials for just some of these.
What are you most excited for this year at the Foundation?
I’m so excited for filming a few projects with partnered charities this year. I love being on location and capturing their incredible work to show our supporters the difference their donations have made.
Where are you most likely to be found in your job?
In the office in a spreadsheet, with headphones in reviewing footage, or out on a charity or store visit - but always with a coffee in hand!
