I joined the amazing Foundation in November 2022! Before that I worked in the Stockport Pet Care Centre since 2019.
Quick summary of your role
I look after lots of different fundraising activities here at the Foundation, including our lotteries, raffles and charity sales. I also manage our Challenge Event Programme, which offers supporters the chance to participate in a variety of events, whilst fundraising for the Foundation. Anything from running, bike rides, skydives, hikes and mud runs - I’m keen to make it all happen!
What do you love most about working at Pets Foundation?
I love being a part of a small team who make a big difference. We work so closely together and we celebrate everyone’s achievements, so we are reminded every day of the amazing impact that the Foundation has on pets and people. No two days are the same with the Foundation, and I love the a variety of fundraising events that I’m involved in.
What pet do you have at home?
Proudly featured in my photo is 5-year-old Bonnie the Jackapom! She is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Pomeranian, but she looks just like a mini fox. She is more than enough to keep me busy, but I do also have a small collection of tropical fish 😊.
What’s your favourite type of pet?
Very predictable… I love all pets, but above all I am a huge dog person! I love meeting all the hard working, 4-legged colleagues in the office.
What is your most memorable rescue experience?
I had my first rescue visit with the Foundation during my second week here! We went to visit Carla Lane in Liverpool to see the amazing fostering and rehoming work they do with rescue pets. Meeting all the rescue cats and dogs waiting for their forever homes has really stuck with me. Since then, I have had the chance to visit so many more incredible rescue centres and foster homes, and I’m always so amazed by each one.
What are you most excited for this year at the Foundation?
This year we are introducing a new platform to help support our Challenge Event Programme. I’m excited to offer a wider variety of challenge events for our supporters to get involved in at lots of different locations, all across the UK! There will be something for everyone to take part in.
Where are you most likely to be found in your job?
When I’m not getting distracted by all the four-legged friends in the office, I’m most likely a few coffees in, either planning another exciting fundraising activity, or trying to get you to sign up for a skydive!
