Santa Paws Appeal 2025: £1.4M Raised for Pets in Need

Our biggest annual fundraiser, Santa Paws, returned to help pets who need us most. Thanks to your incredible generosity, together we raised £1,410,440 for rescue and rehoming organisations across the UK. Every pound you donated has made a real difference this festive season.

What was new this year? 🛍️

For the first time, we introduced limited-edition Santa Paws gift bags, giving Pets at Home customers the chance to fill them with festive treats for their pets. Available in-store, each purchase donated 50p to the store’s local Community Partners. This exciting addition offered a fun way to give back while spoiling pets, and it proved to be a big hit!

Santa Paws is our flagship Christmas appeal, and this year your kindness will help provide vital care, food, and shelter for thousands of rescue pets while they wait for their forever homes. Behind every donation is a story of hope, like sweet Maxy.

Maxy’s story: from abandoned to safe and loved. 🐶

Maxy was found abandoned in a council kennel and faced an uncertain future. After the dog warden reached out for help, Rescue Remedies stepped in and brought him to safety in Surrey. When he arrived, Maxy needed further surgery on his tail and ongoing care, support made possible thanks to your generosity during the 2024 Santa Paws appeal.

Volunteers worked tirelessly to build his confidence, and Maxy eventually found his forever home with a family who had adopted from the rescue before. He now shares a sofa and a special bond with his new companion, Nala the Bulldog.

Your support through Santa Paws means we can continue to help local rescue and rehoming organisations provide food, warmth, and care that dogs like Maxy need until they find the loving homes they deserve, ensuring that no pet gets left behind.
