Cat Homing and Rescue
Cat Homing And Rescue in Warrington received £2,000 from Pets Foundation to help with the vet bills of cats like Pixie. The lovely Pixie was found at the side of the road by local workmen, having suffered terrible injuries likely from being hit by a car. The workmen took her to the vets, who then contacted Cat Homing and Rescue, a foster-based charity in the Warrington area. Sadly Pixie needed to have one leg amputated, but she made an excellent recovery and has since been adopted out into a loving forever home. We’re thrilled that the grant has made such a difference to cats like Pixie.
Bolenowe Animal Sanctuary
Only a few miles from Lizard Point, Bolenowe Animal Sanctuary is the most Southern rescue that Pets Foundation has visited in quite some time!
Rainbow Rehoming Centre
Rainbow Rehoming Centre care for over 100 dogs and over 200 cats every year from their base in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Having a reliable van to transport those pets to and from the local stray dog pound, the centre, and the vets is absolutely essential. Pets Foundation was pleased to give the rescue £20,000 in November 2018 to help buy a brand new van, and also contribute towards the rescue’s vet bills, to make sure all their pets get the treatment they need before they find their new home.
Oldham Cats
Oldham Cats suffered every rescue’s nightmare in 2018, when an outbreak of a rare but serious infectious illness broke out among their cats and kittens. The event caused the rescue to temporarily close its doors until it could rebuild. Thanks to a grant of £43,707 from Pets Foundation, the rescue was able to do just that, reopening just a few months later. The funds were used by the rescue to completely transform their cat intake, isolation and rehoming areas. The new units are more modern, easier to clean, and a much nicer environment for the cats and the volunteers who care for them.
Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare
Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare received £17,000 to help transform their rabbit accommodation. These funds were used to upgrade existing rabbit runs to make them much more hygienic, safer for the rabbits, and it allows for rabbit bonding, so potential adopters can introduce their existing bunny to a potential new friend.
British Hen Welfare Trust
The British Hen Welfare Trust rehome thousands of ex-battery hens every year as much loved family pets. A donation of £10,000 helped purchase the equipment needed to rescue hens like Cinderella, who found a new home with a family in Aberdeenshire.
RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks
RSPCA Milton Keynes and North Bucks received a donation of £11,140 to purchase a much needed animal ambulance. Angel was one of the first passengers; she came into the rescue’s care when her owner passed away.
Forest of Dean Dog Rescue
The volunteers at the Forest of Dean Dog Rescue were thrilled to use their new rescue van for the first time, funded thanks to £12,000 from Pets Foundation. The van will be used to transport the dogs to and from their foster homes, vets, and their forever families.
Kerry Greyhounds UK
The team at Sudbury Pets at Home were thrilled to present Kerry Greyhounds UK with a cheque for £4,000 to help with the veterinary care of their dogs. This charity does fantastic work finding loving new homes for retired greyhounds.
RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham & District Branch to build weatherproof canopy
Pets Foundation gave the rescue £24,960 to build a strong, weatherproof canopy shelter over the exercise area. This means whatever the weather, the dogs have access to somewhere they can run, play, and recover from their past experiences, before they find a new loving family.
