Emma N
Welfare and Operations Manager
Time at the Foundation
I have been a part of the Pets Foundation team since May 2023.
Quick summary of your role
As Welfare and Operations Manager, I lead on pet welfare across our adoption centres, ensuring pets receive the care and support they need while looking for their forever homes. I also oversee a variety of operational projects and processes that help the Foundation deliver its charitable objectives and support our charity partners across the UK.
What do you love most about working at the Pets Foundation?
The people and the purpose. I’m fortunate to work with an incredibly passionate team who genuinely care about making a difference to pets and the charities we support.
What pet do you have at home?
I have a cheeky and cuddly working cocker spaniel called Bryn. He reminds me every day just how much joy pets bring to our lives.
What’s your favourite type of pet?
I love all animals, but I have a real soft spot for dogs, especially spaniels. That said, guinea pigs are hard to beat. Their personalities are huge, and I’m fairly certain they share my enthusiasm for food!
What is your most memorable rescue experience?
One of my most memorable experiences was visiting a parrot rescue supported by the Foundation. It was fascinating to learn more about the complex care and support parrots require, and it opened my eyes to the incredible work rescues do for species that people may not immediately think about. Seeing the dedication and expertise of the rescue team reinforced just how important it is to support charities that give vulnerable animals a second chance.
What are you most excited for this year at the Foundation?
I’m excited about continuing to grow the Foundation’s impact and strengthening the support we provide to pets, adopters and charity partners. There are always opportunities to develop new initiatives, improve welfare outcomes and help even more pets find loving homes.
Where are you most likely to be found in your job?
No two days are quite the same! You’ll usually find me working with colleagues across the business, supporting adoption centres, collaborating with charity partners, reviewing welfare cases, or leading projects that help the Foundation deliver its work effectively.
