Thanks to a £2,607 grant, Advocatseastmids will be able to recruit and equip six new caseworkers. The charity anticipates an increase in workload when the Renters Right Bill becomes law, so this grant will help them advocate for more families like Ruth* and prevent pet relinquishment, keeping pets and people together. (*Name changed to protect identity.)

AdvoCATS founder, Jen Berezai says: "Far too many pets who had perfectly good, loving homes, are finding themselves in rescues purely because a landlord wouldn't accept them. This takes up valuable space that could be being used for strays and genuine hardship cases, and now more than ever rescues are experiencing unprecedented levels of demand for their help. At AdvoCATS, we try to take the uncertainty out of the pets in lets equation, and give the landlord enough information about the pets to alleviate many of their concerns - for example, a cat or dog in receipt of regular flea prevention treatment is highly unlikely to cause a flea problem! It's a simple perception versus reality: if we can demonstrate responsible pet ownership, we can convince more landlords to permit pets."

The charity will use the funds to help people like Ruth and her family, read how they helped Ruth and her pets, Couscous, Jinx and Lola 👇

My daughter’s ginger girl, Daisy, who is about 13.

Never need an excuse to show affection to my son, the inspiration behind my children’s story, Little Red Fox and his Fluffy Ginger Locks! I wanted to teach little ones about overcoming bullying, fostering kindness, and encouraging friendship. If anybody is interested in sharing it, it’s available on Amazon. Happy Kiss a Ginger Day!🥰🦊
